Services

Our Sunday morning worship service is from 9:30-10:30 AM and our Sunday School is from 9:30-10:45 AM. Each worship is a service of Holy Communion (unless otherwise noted) and is followed by a Fellowship Hour with refreshments in the main hall.  All are welcome to the Lord's Supper who hear and believe the words of promise of our Lord Jesus Christ that the sacrament truly is His body and blood, "Given for you . . . shed for you."   Additional services are held throughout the church calendar year including Christmas, Lent, Easter, All Saints, as well as weddings, and funerals.  Join us as we joyfully proclaim the life-giving good news of God made known in Christ.

Sunday School

St. Luke's boasts an excellent and vibrant Sunday School.  Our children begin their Christian instruction in the 3 year olds' class and continue with classes until grade 6, after which time they begin their Confirmation instruction.

Classes are an hour and fifteen minutes on Sunday mornings from 9:30 AM - 10:45 AM beginning in the church sanctuary with a Children's Sermon. Parents are able to worship concurrently and pick up their children at the end of class.  There are no fees and class schedules approximate the Bay Shore Schools calendar.

Our teaching staff is highly trained in the theology of the cross and the proper distinction between Law & Gospel.   What the children learn now, they will remember for life.  "For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ" — 1 Corinthians 3:11."

ANNUAL CHILDREN'S WORSHIP SERVICE

On Sunday, May 8, 2016 the Sunday School Children conducted the entire worship service.  They were the preachers, the lectors, the ushers, the deacons, the communion assistants, and  the choir.  They served the congregation Holy Communion in an incredibly moving worship service conducted by our Sunday School teachers and staff.  The congregation is still speaking about it today and has decided to make this an Annual Children's Worship Service. THANKS BE TO GOD! AMEN.
